About your trip

A hands-on bee lesson + outdoor hiking experience

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon exploring the world of honey bees and the great outdoors! This adventure is designed for curious kids ages 6–12 who love to learn, move, and explore nature.

We’ll begin at Foxhound Bee Company with a 45-minute interactive classroom session, where kids will learn all about honey bees—how they live, why they’re important, and how they help our environment. This engaging lesson is led in a kid-friendly format that encourages questions, curiosity, and hands-on learning.

After our bee lesson, we’ll head to Ruffner Mountain for a guided hike - enjoying an adventurous hike through one of Birmingham’s favorite outdoor spaces. We’ll take breaks as needed, encourage teamwork, and keep the pace fun and supportive for all abilities.
